AI Usage Policy

TCF Practice uses artificial intelligence to provide writing feedback. The service is free; you connect your own API key from a supported provider. We do not charge for AI usage — you pay your provider directly.

When you request an evaluation, TCF Practice sends your task prompt and written response to the external AI provider you select, using your encrypted API key. The provider returns an assessment that we display as structured feedback (estimated level, strengths, improvements, and similar fields).

Supported providers include:

• OpenAI
• OpenRouter
• Grok (xAI)
• Google Gemini
• Anthropic Claude
• Ollama (self-hosted)

AI processing happens on systems operated by your chosen provider (or your self-hosted Ollama instance). Each provider has its own terms, privacy policy, and data practices. TCF Practice does not control how providers store or process your submissions.

AI feedback:

• may make factual, grammatical, or scoring mistakes;
• may produce inconsistent results for the same text;
• should be used for learning and self-study only;
• should not replace qualified teachers, tutors, or official exam preparation;
• is not an official TCF score or immigration assessment.

Different AI providers may produce different evaluations for the same essay. Treat every result as an estimate.

You remain responsible for reviewing all AI-generated feedback and for any study, exam, immigration, or life decisions you make based on it.TCF Practice and its developers are not liable for incorrect AI responses or outcomes arising from your use of the service, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

If you enable multiple providers, the app may show individual results and a consensus view. Consensus is still an estimate — not an official score.
